Recently one of  subscriber of this blog asked me that, he want a XML sitemap for his blog and he don't have any knowledge about it. so here we are
  • Sitemap:
A site map (or sitemap) is a list of pages of a web site or Blog accessible to crawlers or users. (Read more at Wikipedia)

So what ? How a sitemap going to help your Blog ?

By placing a formatted xml file with site map on your web-server, you enable Search Engine crawlers (like Google and Yahoo) to find out what pages are present and which have recently changed, and to crawl your site accordingly.

In simple Words by submitting a sitemap of your Blog or website lets search engines (Google, Yahoo etc)  know about your blogs contains.

4 Easy steps and you will done with your sitemap:


Enter your full website URL and some optional parameters in the form below.
Press 'Start' button and wait until the site is completely crawled.
You will be redirected to the generated sitemap details page, including number of pages, broken links list, XML file content and link to a sitemap file. Download the sitemap file using that link and put it into the domain root folder of your site.
Go to your Google Webmaster account and add your sitemap URL.

The Online Leaf project develops and markets green website additions, which are easy to use on any website. The idea is that a lot of small improvements make a large impact if they are spread out on a large enough number of websites, which will hopefully make the web less of a burden to the environment.
How much CO2 do you emit, when surfing the web? Every minute a thousand visitors spend browsing a website an average of about 1.2kg of CO2 is emitted into our atmosphere.
Now, that is not a very large number individually for a website, but if you consider the amount of time you spend on the internet along with everyone else, Online Leaf might be a step in the right direction, when trying to make the web much greener. So help the environment by making your website green!
The standby engine is a project developed to reduce power consumption, when generating and displaying a website, without changing user experience while using the website. This is done by covering the site in a stationary, black color, which hides visual effects making the visitor’s computer use less energy generating and displaying these.
It might not seem like a lot of difference, but after all every little bit does count.
The standby engine launches a screen covering the site in black color with the text ‘Energy saving mode’ whenever there is no activity by the visitors for a specified time period. A screenshot of the standby screen on  hack the ass is shown below.
You can also install the standby engine by copying  and pasting the following code into the <head> tag on your website. It’s that simple!

Time of inactivity
You can easily define how long time your visitors have to be inactive, for the engine to launch the standby screen, by adding ?time=X where X should be replaced with the number of seconds you would like to define the time interval. An example could be:

…which will set the time of inactivity to 2 minutes (120 seconds).
Combination
In the following example, the engine will write the screen’s text in English and launch the standby screen when the visitors have been inactive for more than 90 seconds (1.5 minutes).
