Yes, you read it right. You can use Internet in your BlackBerry without paying for BlackBerry InternetService charges. Its not illegal method or any hack. Instead of paying Rs. 399/- per month(plan of various indian mobile companies), you can use Normal Internet Plan i.e. Rs.98 for Airtel, Rs.96 for Vodafone, etc. This will save your money but it has some demerits as well. If you are a Hardcore BB user or you use blackberry for business purpose then this tutorial is NOT for you.
When I started writing this post, I didn’t have screenshot app in my BB and BIS plan wasn’t active. I opened BBAppWorld and downloaded the app. Conclusion- we can use BBAppWorld without BIS plan
It works with All BlackBerry Handsets. Works well with Bolt Browser, Opera Mini, BB App World, Snaptu, UberTwitter, FaceChat, Navita Translator, Foursquare, BloomBerg, Dictionary.com, WordPress and Many more Apps

- Go to Menu > options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP
- Open it and write APN
- Airtel – airtelgprs.com
- Vodafone – www / portalnmms / web (any 1)
- Idea – internet
- BSNL – celloneportal
- MTNL – mmsmtnlmum / gprsmtnlmum
- If you didnt see APN for your Mobile Company / Country. Here’s the Complete List of APN(Wordwide)
You CAN NOT access
- BlackBerry Browser
- BlackBerry Email
- Twitter for Blackberry
- Facebook for Blackberry
- BB Messenger and those apps which are made by RIM BlackBerry.
So, If you want to use These Apps. you have to pay forBIS Planwhich is 4x costlier
Update: WhatsApp may work on some devices, try installing it over WiFi.

airtel's apn name for every state is diffrent i guess.
so call at 121 customer care from your cell and ask the executive about ur state apn for gprs
and write that apn name in that box save it and restart the phone you can use normal net, whatsapp, opera, and every other app except bbm, fb and twitter.
i have a reliance gsm sim ! wil it wrk for me?

u can use whatsapp,opera,nimbuzz,facebook messenger.
even u can use bb browser bt u will need a browser.config service book.

I have a bb 9220 and i have followed the above mentioned steps.....it was working for 2 days.....but since then , internet is not working.....
Internet is working only when EDGE is in Capital letters and not when it is showing edge(small letters)
Can u pls help me.....its very urgent

man just download opera mini and then u can access internet with normal plans....

@girri: bro restart your phone it will definetly work. set up apn properly again (check spelling in apn) and restart.
@ anonymous: for bold3 idea apn should be set "internet" without inverted commas and id password should be kept blank
@lemondrop: your carrier must be having problem and you can even use it without restarting by just switching of your data services and then restarting it. but you should port to other carrier that is preferrable.

your gprs will start working on you 9300 (bb browser, facebook and bbm wont work) insteat of that you can use opera browser from appworld and whatsapp and fb messenger app

Hey I'm using bb 9220 curve..vodapone user..I put 2G plan on my device...and in apn I wrote 'www' and left other option blank..the edge came in small...but I am UNABLE to use opera mine and whatsapp..help me out..my nos 9820819893-rishabh
